Subj:    VOICE OF DEMOCRACY AND PATRIOT’S PEN REPORTS

Listed below are the deadlines for Voice of Democracy (VOD) and Patriot’s Pen contests:

Midnight, November 1, 2011:  Student entries to the Post

            November 15, 2011: Completion of Post judging

            November 25, 2011:  District judging to begin.  No Post winners will be accepted

                                                after this date.

            December 1, 2011:  Post participation reports to District Chairman

            December 6, 2011:  Completion of District judging

Please advise your VOD and Patriot’s Pen Chairmen that Posts may advance one winner for every fifteen (15) entries judged at the Post to the District competition.  If a Post has enough entrants to advance more than one winner, the Post’s placement of these winners shall not be considered at the District level.  The Post winner’s materials that should be forwarded to the District Chairman (immediately after the Post judging is complete) are:

1.     Post winner’s completed entry form

2.     Post winner’s recording (audiocassette or CD)(VOD only)

3.     Post winner’s typed essay

Enclosed are the Post Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen Report Forms and some guidelines regarding the programs.
